Lea Tahuhu

Labelled one of the fastest bowlers in the world, Lea Tahuhu has only just begun to terrorise international batting line-ups, and can be an equally fearless tailend bat.

The tall right-armer from Christchurch made her debut for the Canterbury Magicians when she was just 18 and was promoted, after just two years of domestic cricket, to the FERNS and given the job of making the batsmen feel uncomfortable.

Her debut against Australia was a baptism of fire, however, the WHITE FERNS getting well and truly smashed by their foes. It wasn’t all bad, Tahuhu claiming her first wicket and smashing a couple of boundaries at the end of the innings. She also played three Twenty20 matches in 2010, but soon realised she needed to bring down her economy rate after a tough learning experience against the Aussies.
