With a smattering of One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals under her belt, at almost 29 years old Holly Huddleston won reselection for the WHITE FERNS’ tour of South Africa in late 2016, after an off-season representing Middlesex where she was primarily engaged as a bowler.
At home in Aotearoa New Zealand, Huddleston is better known as a useful allrounder. She represents the Auckland Hearts, beginning her career down the state highway at Northern Spirit before the switch in 2009/10.
At the Hearts she made her mark, often taking the new ball and batting in the middle order. A superb 2013/14 season led to her first call-up to the WHITE FERNS squad and she represented New Zealand at the Women’s World T20 in Bangladesh.
In 2015/16 Huddleston produced a sensational opening spell in the domestic One-Day Final that helped the Auckland Hearts clinch the national title, to put herself right back in line for contention.
