Kate is an exciting young fast bowler for the White Ferns. Her ability to bowl economically has already been proven after just a short time in the squad.
A member of the Central Hinds squad since she was just 15, there’s not much Kate doesn’t know about First-Class cricket. A medium right-arm bowler, she has claimed the scalp of some of New Zealand’s best batsman and on her day knows how to hit it around a bit herself.
It’s also worth noting that Kate is more than slightly capable with the bat and many would consider her a genuine all-rounder.
In her fourth season for Central, Kate was included in the White Fern’s ODI squad to take on Australia. She bowled well, taking 1 for 25 off seven overs in a losing effort. She has made the starting team regularly since her debut and found her feet at international level in both the ODI and Twenty20 format.
Kate has also continued to excel at domestic level, picking up the female Central Districts Player of the Year Award. At just 20 years-old the gritty young player is only going to get better. You can expect to see her pick up many more awards in the future.
