Despite only being in her early 20s, Frances Mackay is already one of the most experienced White Ferns in the squad.
Frances is a solid right handed opening batsman, whose patience and maturity at the crease is well beyond her years. She's well know for her work ethic, spending hours in the nets training.
She is also a dangerous off spin bowler and has been a star for her domestic side, the Canterbury Magicians, who she's won numerous trophies with over the years.
Her consistency didn't go unnoticed and behind a particularly strong 2011 season with both bat and ball, she was selected to play for the White Ferns in the ODI and Twenty20 series against Australia in the prestigious Rose Bowl.
After a steady start, Mackay has found her feet at the international level, and has on occasion opened both the batting and bowling for the side.
She performed impressively at the ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh in March 2014, highlighted by knocks of 25 in a memorable win over Australia and 51 against Ireland in pool play. Unfortunately, a heart-breaking loss to South Africa saw them miss out on a semi-final berth.
