Labelled as one of the fastest bowlers in the world, Lea Tahuhu has only just begun to terrorise international batting line ups.
The speedy right-armer has only just started her international career, promoted from the Canterbury Magicians after just two years of domestic cricket. Given the job of making the batsman feel uncomfortable, Lea takes great enjoyment out of her job and does it well.
Lea’s debut against Australia was a baptism of fire, the Ferns getting well and truly smashed by their foes across the ditch. It wasn’t all bad though, Tahuhu claiming her first wicket and smashing a couple of boundaries at the end of the innings. Tahuhu has also played three Twenty20 matches for the Kiwi’s in 2010, but will be looking to bring down her economy down after a tough learning experience against the Aussies.
At such an early stage of her career there is a lot of room for improvement for Lea, but all the signs are there for this talented bowler. At the rate she has improved so far, batsman around the world can only fear what she will become in time.
Lea has also represented the national indoor cricket team.
