Sarah J Tsukigawa

Sarah has been part of the White Ferns for four years and she is over the moon about getting the opportunity to represent New Zealand at an international level.

Like many other players she was encouraged to play cricket by her family and she enjoyed getting into the backyard with her dad, brother and cousins to play cricket.

Her highlight to date was the chance to tour India and experience the sounds, culture and crowds the sub continent has to offer. She says it was an amazing experience and can’t wait to get back to India in the future.

Sarah is also a qualified teacher and spends her time teaching alternative education to children with high behavioural needs. She has recently gone back to university to complete her post graduate studies in Behavioural Education.

She describes herself as loyal, laid back and passionate and it is no surprise that she enjoys spending her spare time relaxing and spending time with her family. She’s also quite handy on the guitar.

  • Sarah is a hard hitting middle order batsman and a very effective medium pace bowler.
  • She has down a great job in bowling near the end of an innings and her variations will always keep batsmen guessing.
  • She hits the ball harder than most players and can comfortably clear the boundary ropes. .
