Hamish Rutherford joined the international scene in
fantastic fashion. After a strong domestic showing for the Otago Volts, he was
named in the Twenty20 New Zealand squad to battle England in the ANZ Series. He
went on to play in the ODI series and then scored 171 on Test debut in Dunedin.
He is a talented and solid opening left handed batsman.
After playing for New Zealand in the Under-19 World Cup in
Malaysia, he really showed his skills with three centuries in the Plunket
Shield for Otago and has brought that form to his International career.
