Colin Munro or “Manu” is a big hitting left hand bat who
first entered the first-class scene in 2006, however it wasn't till the 2011/12
season that he really started to make an impact. During that season he made
three fifties and a century for the Auckland Aces. The following season he got
even better, with three centuries including a record breaking 269 not out from
252 balls in a four day match against Wellington.
His incredible 2012/13 season got even better when he was
selected in the New Zealand squad to tour South Africa. Munro then made his
debut in all three forms of the game against his birth-country.
To cap off a fantastic season Colin was then selected in the New Zealand squad
to play in the England series at home as well as receiving the batting award
for the Auckland Aces.
Munro is also a very effective medium-pace bowler who is a
genuine all-rounder.
This guy is one to watch for the future. His aggressive
batting is destined to intimidate bowlers around the world. If Manu is batting
and you’re in the crowd, be sure to keep your eyes on the ball.
