Promising new ball bowler Friday made his Wellington Firebirds debut in the first round of last year’s Plunket Shield against the Central Stags in Napier, taking 3 for 39. A former Junior Tall Black basketball player, Friday is also a former New Zealand 19 cricketer and was a key member in the Wellington U23s last season. Over the recent winter he trained with the New Zealand A side in Queensland, Australia, and played in their three-day match against India Emerging Players at Townsville.
