Sam is a talented all rounder, he is a right arm medium fast bowler and a left handed middle order batsman who debuted for Otago in the 2007-08 season.

Sam has had a number of break through performances in recent seasons with maiden five wicket bags and First Class centuries. Unfortunately injury cut his 2010-11 season short but Sam will be looking to resume where he left off in the 2011-12 season.

Sam is training to be a lawyer and is known for his skills at the poker table.
