WELLINGTON FIREBIRDS ASSISTANT COACH
Cricket Wellington invites registrations of interest from suitably qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Coach of the Wellington Firebirds.
Based out of the Hawkins Basin Reserve and Westpac Stadium, this is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to help play a vital role in the progression of Wellington’s premier men’s team. You will work with elite athletes, coaches, and management staff to help facilitate excellence in team and individual preparation and performance.
Reporting to the Director of Cricket, the primary elements of the position includes:
Assisting the Firebirds’ Head Coach achieve the objectives of excelling on the park and developing national representative players;
Coaching of the Wellington Provincial A team;
Oversight of the development programme for Wellington fringe first-class players;
Contributing fully to the High Performance programme and the development of a successful culture and environment within CW’s elite cricket structure.
The successful applicant will hold a NZC Level 3 coaching qualification (or equivalent), be highly organised, have strong communication and inter-personal skills, as well as being proficient with modern cricket technologies. An ability to prioritise and organise workloads is critical, while significant flexibility is required for national travel, and working extended hours throughout the summer.
The position is full time, fixed term from 2 September 2013 to 2 April 2014 (7 months). At this stage it is offered on a two-season basis.
