Reflecting on Super Six stage…
“It is great for us. Our goal was to pick up maximum points in the group stages, but now we are down to the business end of the tournament, we know that we need to work hard.”
Looking ahead to the England match….
“We will enjoy our victories, but keep our feet on the ground as well. We have a big game on Saturday and we know that the Poms (England) are playing great cricket at the moment so it should be a good game.
“They were one of the favourites ahead of the event and they deserve that title. They have played consistent cricket over the last three years and have worked hard to get a stable team together.
“We need to bowl good lines and lengths and the key will be taking early wickets against them.
“It is going to be a great game and a good challenge and we are all really looking forward to Saturday.”
On Claire Taylor…..
“Claire Taylor played state cricket for Canterbury when she came over to New Zealand and I know what she is like. She is a gutsy player and she doesn’t throw her wicket away and she works really hard.
“She is a key wicket as anybody would want to get the number one batter in the world out and she has a lot of pressure on her as she knows she needs to score a lot of runs for England. We need to bowl particularly well to her, Charlotte Edwards and Sarah Taylor as they are all top players.”
Predictions for Saturday’s match…..
“It is going to be a challenge, but the Kiwi attitude is to always be up for a challenge.
“We are going to have work very hard for our runs and certainly very, very hard for our wickets, as we know that England is one of the favourites for the event and they deserve that title.”
