White Ferns batting star Sara McGlashan's latest diary entry from the ICC World Twenty20.
Diary entry one
As we embark on our journey to the T20 World Cup the first task is to pack < 45kg.
While some people managed to do this there was one player who struggled. Mainly due to her hair straightner, hair dryer and makeup bag.
Leaving Christchurch Sunday morning in cold wintery conditions it was nice to be told by the pilot that it was 25 degrees in Brisbane….at 6 o’clock at night!
The 3 game series got off to a great start winning the first game but unfortunately a lack of runs in the next two resulted in a 1-2 loss. A lot of positives were taken from the series though as the learning continues about the T20 style of cricket.
We left Brisbane late at night with our backpacks full of food and water and our calf muscles squeezed into compression socks. When weighing our bags at check in one player managed to somehow gain about 5 kilos……she must have added to the already existing beauty salon in her gear bag.
