Marshall strikes century


BLACKCAPS tourist James Marshall took centre stage with a century as Northern Districts drew with Wellington at Lincoln Green.


Marshall, capped five times at Test level and three times in One-Day games, opened the innings and struck 102 from 137 deliveries before being bowled by Iain O’Brien.


Northern ran up a total of 268 for eight. In response, Wellington made 257 for three from 75 overs.


Brothers Michael and Neal Parlane led the way for their side, scoring 72 and 81 not out respectively.
