India complete series in style

India's final one-day victory over Pakistan, at Karachi, reflected the earlier games of the five-match series.

India broke through the Pakistan top-order, then chased a target of 287 with ease, and had the benefit of another Yuvraj Singh special as he scored 107 off 93 balls.

India has become a specialist chasing side and the win was the 13th successive winning run chase for the side.

Undoing the Pakistan top-order in this game was Shanthakumaran Sreesanth who achieved his best haul in his nine ODIs with 4-58 from his 10 overs. His effort helped reduce Pakistan to 115-4 before a 95-run stand between Mohammad Yousuf (67) and Younis Khan (74 not out).

Having scored 286, Pakistan could not be happy as the batting conditions were benign, and the inevitability of their defeat was reflected in a fielding effort that fell below standard.

India started with 69 for the first wickets as Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir settled in and then Yuvraj added another 72 runs before Dravid's dismissal for 50. During his innings he became the ninth batsman to pass 9000 runs in ODIs.

But that was the last of the good fortune for Pakistan as Mahendra Dhoni joined Yuvraj in an unbroken stand of 146 runs with Dhoni scoring his 77 off 56 balls giving India the win with 19 balls remaining.
