The countdown to the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka is now within 100 days and excitement around the region is building rapidly.
To acknowledge the milestone 350 children from the Kandy district formed a giant 100 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, with the ICC and Sri Lanka Cricket also donating 100 bats to the girls and boys who play competitive cricket in the area.
During the event organisers also announced that more tickets would be made available for all of the games. The tournament, which begins on September 18, has generated extensive interest and fans from around the world are expected to make the trip over.
Prices for the matches are of excellent value, with tickets available for as little as US $0.25 for group games, while the final itself ranges between US $2.50 and US $45.
The ICC Women’s World Twenty20 will be played during the same time period and will be free for spectators during group stages. The playoffs will be on the same day, at the same ground as the men’s and will be covered by the same ticket.
Online tickets can be purchased from the website www.icc-cricket.com.
