Hogg replaces Trott at Otago

State Otago Volts have selected Lancashire and England Under-19 all-rounder Kyle Hogg as their overseas player for the 2006/07 season.

Hogg, 23, will replace Jonathan Trott for the forthcoming season as the 2005/06 State Medeal winner is unavailable through injury.

Volts coach Mike Hesson said “I’m delighted to have the services of Kyle for the season after the disappointment of Jonathan’s injury.

“Kyle is a quality player who has been recommended to me by a number of different coaches and players on the county scene and I will be looking for him to make a valuable contribution both on and off the field”.

Hogg added “I am looking forward to joining the State Otago Volts this season. It will bring a new challenge for me and will help further develop my career”.

Hogg will arrive in New Zealand in late October in time for the start of the State Summer of Cricket.
