Central Stags batsman Matthew Sinclair hit his third century of the season to put his team on top in day two of their State Championship match against the Wellington Firebirds.
Sinclair’s 26th first class century came off 336 balls and included 16 fours.
His unbeaten sixth wicket partnership of 235 with wicket keeper Bevin Griggs is a sixth wicket record for Central.
It is Griggs who has scored more freely of the pair, getting his 138 of 187 balls with 18 boundaries.
Overseas professional Graham Napier had the best bowling figures for Wellington, finishing the day with two for 90 off 27 overs.
Central will resume tomorrow in a formidable position being 452 for 5.
