State Auckland Aces captain Richard Jones dominated his team’s innings against State Central Stags at Eden Park.
Jones made 140 of the Aces’ 314 as they batted through to the final ball of the opening day.
A second-wicket stand with Martin Guptill (65) looked to have put Auckland on a firm footing, but the afternoon saw the side lose wickets at a rapid rate.
From 198 for one, they lost their remaining nine wickets for 116 runs in 34 overs.
Greg Hegglun led the way with four for 54, with Robbie Schaw and Brent Hefford claiming two wickets each.
