Canterbury deny Aces revival

A century stand by State Auckland Aces all-rounders and could not help the hosts avoid defeat to State Canterbury Wizards at Eden Park.

Canterbury bowlers and took three wickets each as the Wizards claimed a thrilling six-run win.

Craig McMillan claimed two wickets for four runs in three overs to help seal victory.

Canning was left on 90 not out after outlasting Adams, whose 65 from 48 balls included eight fours and three sixes as Auckland looked to turn the game.

But McMillan claimed Adams’ wicket and the tail crumbled, leaving the Aces all out for 265, tantalisingly short of their 272 target.
