The ICC Executive Board today met to discuss the nomination of the Honourable John Howard AC for the role of ICC Vice President for the period 2010-12.
Following lengthy consideration it was recognized that the nomination put forward by Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket did not have sufficient support within the ICC Board. No vote was taken.
Under the ICCs regional rotation process, the nomination of the ICC Vice President adopted by ICC in October 2007, Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket were invited to re-nominate a candidate by 31 August, 2010.
The ICC Board consists of the chairman or president from each of the 10 Full Members plus three Associate Member representatives. Also present at ICC Board meetings is the ICC President, who chairs proceedings, the ICC Chief Executive and the ICC Vice-President, as well as, by invitation of the President, the ICC Principal Advisor.
