Kent scored 600-6 declared and in reply Notts have reached 79-1 with Fleming the next man in.

An interesting match is shaping at Leicester where the home team scored 371 with Craig Spearman snaring three catches for Gloucestershire.

The visitors replied with 282-9 declared, of which Spearman scored 35.

In its second innings, Leicestershire is 17-1.

At Lord's, Lancashire is 359-5 at stumps on the first day against Middlesex. Scott Styris bowled 19 overs and picked up two for 45.

Meanwhile, Brendon McCullum joins Glamorgan tomorrow on a short stint in which he will be able to concentrate on his batting as Glamorgan's regular keeper will retain the gloves.

McCullum is expected to be a key force for Glamorgan in the forthcoming Twenty20 programme.
