Wellington wins Women’s National Development Tournament

Wellington won the 2006 New Zealand Cricket Women’s National Development Tournament after a premature end was forced by rain at Lincoln University.

All three of the final round matches were abandoned, leaving Wellington two points clear of outgoing champion Canterbury.

Auckland’s Kelly Sutherland and Lucy Doolan of Wellington shared the Trish McKelvey Trophy for the competition’s most outstanding player.
