Helen Watson’s 49 ensured back-to-back wins for State Auckland Hearts in Palmerston North.
Auckland overcame State League rival State Central Hinds by four wickets at Fitzherbert Park, in a much more comfortable win than the thrilling encounter the previous day.
Watson, Natalee Scripps and Prashilla Mistry took three wickets apiece to limit CD to 113 for nine off their full 50 overs. White Fern Sarah McGlashan (28) again led the way for the home team, with only Zara McWilliams (24) supplying any real assistance.
Auckland initially struggled in reply, with Hinds captain and opening bowler Aimee Mason recording figures of one for six off her 10 overs. Donna Trow also proved a thorn in the Hearts’ side, with 1/12 off 10.
However, Watson knocked a patient 49 off 76 balls as the visitors completed their target in the penultimate over.
