New Zealand Cricket today announced the squad to tour Bangladesh in October.
The squad is:
Daniel Vettori (captain)
Mark Gillespie (ODI series only)
Iain O’Brien (Test series only)
Aaron Redmond (Test series only)
Scott Styris (ODI series only)
Selector Dion Nash said: “The team will have the challenge of competitive cricket in sub-continent conditions after the break enforced by the postponement of the Champions Trophy.
“Bangladesh will provide a stern test going into another international season, which offers the BLACKCAPS the chance to build on this year’s home and away series against England.
“Chris Martin is recalled to the ODI squad, with Iain O’Brien and Aaron Redmond to join the team for the two Test matches.
“We welcome Jesse Ryder back to the BLACKCAPS squad for both forms of the game. Jesse performed well on the Emerging Players tour in Australia in July.
“The ODI squad leaves for Bangladesh on 30 September, four days earlier than previously scheduled to ensure a period of quality, relevant preparation.”
