New Zealand Cricket has confirmed the 2006-07 Chappell-Hadlee Trophy series will take place on home soil.
Instead of alternating hosting rights as intended, the three-match series between the BLACKCAPS will play hosts to Australia once again.
With the BLACKCAPS touring Australia in the pre-World Cup VB series starting in January 2007, the nations have decided to return to New Zealand.
The decision follows an exciting Chappell-Hadlee Trophy series this year.
Australia won 2-1, but the BLACKCAPS launched two massive run-chases, completing a world-record win in Christchurch in match three.
NZC CEO Martin Snedden said: “We will be playing Australia four times at least in the VB series so it did not seem right to have more matches there.
“Australia is happy to play us again because they are confident of getting good build-up matches against us.”
The tournament will probably be held in Australia in 2007-08.
