The Canterbury Magicians prevailed over the Auckland Hearts by 23 runs to extend their lead at the top of the T20 ladder.
Batting first, Canterbury made 132 for four at Lincoln Green and then restricted Auckland to 109 for six.
The Magicians batting effort was lead by captain, Amy Satterthwaite, who cracked six boundaries in her 44 while Hayley Jensen made a useful 37.
The Auckland reply was hampered by early wickets as they were quickly reduced to 44 for four.
New ball bowler, Lea Tahuhu, was highly impressive, taking two for 11 and set the tone with a wicket off her third ball.
Auckland responded through the middle stages with Katey Perkins making 23 and Lauren Down striking 30 but more was required from the other batters.
