The Otago Sparks put on 222 after winning the toss and electing to bat in the One Day match against the Northern Spirit at Cobham Oval in Whangarei.
Opener Katey Martin continued her rich vain of form, once again dominating with the bat with a superb 51. It the third half century of the season for the Otago captain, form that sees her occupy fourth spot on the MVP table.
Otago kept the pressure on the bowlers as Sarah Tsukigawa belted her way to 73 scoring at nearly a run a ball.
A couple of twenties and teens helped the Sparks through to a useful total of 222.
Overall MVP leader Nicola Brown sneered three for 44 off her ten overs with Emily Wilson picking up two.
Weather then intervened and ended play before the Otago Sparks could bowl a ball in the second innings.
