The Otago Sparks have squared the ledger by beating the Auckland Hearts by seven wickets at Queen’s Park in Invercargill after losing yesterdays match to the same team.
The Otago total of 155 was set up by captain Katey Martin who capped a great few days with the bat scoring 61 after making 74 yesterday and 53 in Friday’s Twenty20.
It was a team effort with the ball by Auckland with Roseanne Cox, Megan Tremaine, Paula Gruber taking two each.
Michelle Lynch got the Hearts off to a great start with 42 at the top of the order before being run out. Katie Perkins made 23 with none of the other batters making an impact.
Spin bowler Emma Campbell was the best of the Sparks attack, clean bowling three of the Auckland batsman and only going for 14 runs.
