The White Ferns slumped to another loss in the One-Day International Quadrangular Series, this time to hosts England at County Ground, Derby.
England, who were put into bat, posted 237 for nine on the back of a fine 67 by Claire Taylor. In reply, the White Ferns were routed for 179 in 45.4 overs. The result follows a 28 run loss to Australia two days ago and with just one match to play effectively rules the White Ferns out of the final.
Taylor came to the crease with England in a spot of bother after the White Ferns pace bowlers ripped out both openers to have them one for two but the experienced batsman shared useful partnerships with Danielle Wyatt (30) and Lydia Greenway (34) to get things back on track.
Wicketkeeper batsman Sarah Taylor closed out the innings with an unbeaten 41.
Fast bowler Sian Ruck was once again miserly taking one for 27 while new ball bowling partner Nicola Brown took two for 43 and spinner Frances Mackay picked up two for 26.
The White Ferns run chase got off to a horror start as they were quickly reduced to 11 for four before Suzie Bates steadied with a patient 40.
Captain Aimee Watkins was impressive through the middle stages striking 59 but they lost their way towards the end of the innings with the last four wickets falling for 28 runs.
Spinner Laura Marsh, although the most expensive of the English attack, took three for 50 while pace bowler Arran Brindle picked up two for 16.
The White Ferns will face India on 3 July in their final round robin match of the tournament.
