Sparks hammer Spirit in One-Dayer

Emma Campbell took five wickets and Sarah Tsukigawa hit a ton for the Otago Sparks as they smashed Northern Spirit by 189 runs at Queen’s Park, Invercargill.

After winning the toss and electing to bat Otago piled on 268 for six and then rolled Northern for 80 in just 26 overs.

Tsukigawa provided the backbone for the Otago innings with a superb unbeaten 117 off 121 balls in an innings studded with 11 boundaries and a six.

The Northern reply got off to a scratchy start but at 74 for three they had consolidated.  They then lost their last seven wickets for just six runs.

Otago spinner Campbell did the damage finishing with incredible figures of five for eight off five overs.
