Rain rules in capital

The Wellington Firebirds and Otago Volts today both played second fiddle to the weather which continues to dog the HRV Cup Twenty competition.

A miserably wet day in the capital meant their seventh round match at the Basin Reserve became the fourth game of the competition to be abandoned due to the elements.

A scheduled noon start never eventuated and there was no chance of play after that either as Wellington was covered in low cloud and sweeping rain.
