New Zealand have squared their one-day
cricket series with the West Indies, winning the third match by
seven wickets at Westpac Stadium here tonight.
Set 129 for victory, New Zealand powered to the total in just
20.3 overs as Ross Taylor, 51, and Daniel Flynn, 23, added an
unbeaten 89 runs for the fourth wicket off 79 balls as the home side
recovered from 40 for three.
Earlier Daniel Vettori took four for 20 off 10 overs in a man of the match performance, as the West
Indies were bundled out for 128 in 41.4 overs. Shivnarine
Chanderpaul top scored with 45.
The first match in Queenstown was washed out while the West
Indies won a rain-affected contest in Christchurch by five wickets.
The fourth match is in Auckland on Saturday and the finale is
scheduled for Napier next Tuesday.
