Cricket Smart is a set of resources for primary and intermediate schools that has been designed to celebrate New Zealand’s co-hosting of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 but last long into the future.
Developed by a Ministry of Education endorsed education developer and with the financial assistance of the New Zealand Government, Cricket Smart offers a range of New Zealand curriculum-based learning and teaching resources for Years one to eight. Made up of five different resource themes spanning eight learning areas, it has been designed to celebrate the game of cricket and ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, and to bring this to life in a learning context for young pupils around the country.
Cricket Smart will be downloadable in time for Term four, 2014 and supported by multimedia teaching resources.
By registering for Cricket Smart your school will also receive a free cricket kit and a New Zealand Cricket Skills Session resource which will aid you in delivering cricket in the school yard giving your pupils the opportunity to experience the game personally. You can also opt in for a chance to secure World Cup tickets made available by tournament organisers to celebrate the launch. Groups of 30 tickets (five adult, 25 child) are available for selected pool matches at all seven New Zealand venues on a first-come, first-served basis, so be quick to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity for your students to experience the Cricket World Cup first hand.
