White Ferns tour Of Australia

Hey Guys!!

She’s been tough going over here rooming with DJ Marty Marty and Lulu. I tell ya, there is never a silent/dull moment in our room. I try to get to sleep early, but with Lulu dancing and Marty listening to her Home and Away programme it's hard work!

Three Twenty20 losses in a row is certainly not what we wanted, however, as a team we are not dwelling on it. Instead we are now looking forward to the Rosebowl Series, with our first game on the 25th at the prestigous SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground).

Yesterday was our first full day off, which came at a good time for all of us. Marty, Macca, Jase and Liz headed off to Summer Bay to check out the set of Home and Away. Fortunately as they pulled up the cast had just started filming; suffice to say they were all very, very excited!!!!

Room ‘705’ (Candy, Maddy, Frankie) headed off on the water taxi to Darling Harbour.  The taxi went on a cruise around the harbour, under the bridge and around to the opera house. While new Skip Suzie Bates headed to Sydney’s city centre for some shopping with her parents.

Woods and McIlroy (Lucy and I) headed off to the golf range at Moore Park in Sydney town. I managed to clear the 200m mark a few times and Lulu swung in at 150m. Fun times were had until as we were causally walking back to our apartment Lulu faced a near death experience by getting nailed in the elbow by a golf ball!! Luckily it didn’t chip the bone! Poor little Lulu.

At 3.30pm we all meet in the lobby as the social committee (Marty & Lucy) had organized a BBQ and evening bowls session for the team at the local Taren Point Bowling club. A very relaxed and enjoyable day was had by all.

Alrighty time to head off and catch some zzzzz’s. Big training session at the SCG before we start battle on Tuesday!

Keep cool Kiwis, hope all is well back in the land of rugby world cup winners!!

Yours in cricket
