Ross Taylor

This talented batsman has had an amazing rise to the top and is set to be a key player in this season’s line up for the BLACKCAPS.

Ross started playing cricket at age five and learned how to be a top class cricketer by playing for Central Districts under 19s, then New Zealand under 19s before being selected for the Central Stags senior team.

He made his ODI debut for the BLACKCAPS in 2006 against the West Indies in Napier and featured in his first Twenty20 game later that year against Sri Lanka in Wellington. He stepped up to the crease in his debut test against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2007. Because of his stunning displays with the bat and impressive fielding for the BLACKCAPS he was contracted to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. The most recent IPL team to secure his talents was the Pune Warriors in 2013.

His career highlight to date was beating the Australians in the Chappell-Hadlee trophy a few seasons ago.

Ross describes himself as relaxed, passionate and focused and in his spare time he enjoys catching up on sleep, watching movies, spending time with his friends and family and enjoying a nice glass of red wine.

“I look forward to entertaining you this summer and hope to see you there.”
